Accessibility at ChartFlow

Our Commitment

ChartFlow is built for every student. As an educational EHR and healthcare simulation platform, we believe that learning to chart, administer medications, and think critically about patient care should be accessible to all — regardless of ability.

Accessibility isn't an afterthought at ChartFlow. It's part of how we design, develop, and deliver clinical simulation experiences for nursing programs, allied health education, CTE pathways, and EMT training nationwide.

Standards & Compliance

ChartFlow is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We apply the four core principles of accessible design across our platform:

  • Perceivable — Content and interface elements are presented in ways all users can perceive, including support for screen readers, sufficient color contrast, and text alternatives for visual content.
  • Operable — All core functionality is available via keyboard navigation. Interactive elements like patient charts, medication administration records, and simulation controls are designed to be operable without a mouse.
  • Understandable — Our educational EHR interface uses clear labels, consistent navigation, and plain language to ensure students and instructors can understand and operate the platform confidently.
  • Robust — ChartFlow is built to work across modern browsers, devices, and assistive technologies, and we test compatibility as the platform evolves.

What We Do

  • Accessible simulation design — Our simulated patient charts, flowsheets, and clinical documentation tools are built with semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, and keyboard operability in mind.
  • Inclusive learning modules — Content pages, embedded videos, and assessment questions are structured for assistive technology compatibility.
  • Ongoing testing — We incorporate both automated and manual accessibility testing into our development process, including screen reader testing and keyboard-only navigation audits.
  • Responsive across devices — ChartFlow works on desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices, giving students flexible access to clinical simulations from any screen size.

Accommodations

We're committed to working with students, instructors, and institutions to address individual accessibility needs. If you require accommodations or encounter a barrier while using ChartFlow, we want to hear from you.

When reaching out, it helps to include:

  • The page or feature you were using
  • Your browser and device
  • Any assistive technology in use
  • A description of the issue or accommodation needed

Third-Party Content

Some areas of ChartFlow may include third-party integrations, embedded videos, or external content. While we encourage our partners to follow accessibility best practices, the accessibility of third-party content may vary and is outside our direct control.

Documentation

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) documenting our WCAG 2.2 AA conformance is available upon request.
